Composition and Description
LANOLIN EP3 (Gardner 10) is produced from the multi-stage refining of wool grease, a natural, renewable raw material, which is obtained from the scouring (washing) of raw wool. It is yellow, unctuous substance, when melted, with a clear, yellow liquid. Lanolin is a complex mixture of esters, di-esters and hydroxy-esters of sterols and aliphatic alcohols with medium- to long-chain fatty acids.
Features
LANOLIN EP3 (Gardner 10) is manufactured according to the requirements of the European Pharmacopoeia 1997 (without testing the pesticide residues) and is a cheaper alternative to LANOLIN EP ELP. Since it is manufactured gently in modern facilities, the initial peroxide value (measure of oxidation) is very low. Therefore EP3 (Gardner 10) does not need additional stabilizers. Nevertheless, a shelf life of 2 years is guaranteed. Upon request, BHT can be added as stabilizers.
Applications
LANOLIN EP3 (Gardner 10) can be used in all cosmetic formulations such as toiletries, skin care and hair care formulations, make-up products, soaps and all pharmaceutical formulations.
Processing
No special handling is required on the usage of LANOLIN EP3 (Gardner 10) and it may be processed both cold and melted. It is non-hazardous and easily meltable with a relatively low volatility. Prolonged heating above the melting point should be avoided. However, heat sterilization is possible.

Storage
stored cool, protected from light in containers and surface exposure to air should be kept at minimum.
